I saw this film called the Swimmer with Burt Lancaster and I really liked it. I came into late so can any of you movie fucks tell me what the hell this movies about ?

This Film was quite the sensation when it came out. It broke records in so many ways.
The story is about george (burt lnacaster) who made a bet with his wife during a cocktail party held by one of those producer filmfucks.
The bet goes as follows: George has to stay in a swimmingpool filled with rum until it is evaporated. If he succeeds he will marry the blonde Shirley (played by Marty Feldmann believe it or not - yeah they did a hell of a good job in the makeup department) and live happily forever. And if he doesn't succeed ... he will drown (Burt Lancaster actually had to swimm in real rum so that his acting would be more authentic.)
How did it end again?
